I, along with my wife Melissa Hertel, started Big Iron Transport LLC in February of 2015. The journey of Big Iron Transport LLC began in 2002 when I obtained my CDL and became a company driver. Over the years, my career has led me to a place I did not expect to be – an owner / operator.
In 2015, I purchased my first truck and trailer, making me an owner / operator. After a few small custom upgrades to my first Kenworth W900, I was ready to grow my fleet – purchasing two Kenworth W900 glider kits, both being custom builds, and one Kenworth W900 off of the Kenworth lot. I also purchased three custom MAC trailers (with conestogas) to pair with my custom rigs.
